When words and music move as one, they open new worlds of expression, emotion, and perspective. Here are a few examples of this interplay, written by Job van Kuppeveld.
Grillend Gek
Grillend Gek is the most recent musical for which Job wrote both music and lyrics. After founding the theatre company ENCORE with Lybrich Alkema in early 2024, they created this original comedy musical, which premiered on 23 November 2024.

Alles voor de Show
Alles voor de Show was the first musical for which Job composed the music. Performed by a cast of 50 students and a professional live band, it played to sold-out audiences across three performances.
This scene is taken from Slava’s beloved theatre production SnowShow. As part of an assignment, I reimagined the music for this extraordinary moment. Nearly 80% of the score grows from a single five-note motif I once whistled into my voice recorder — a simple idea that found its place here.
Frozen medley for choir
I’ve always loved the music of Frozen, so I created a four-part choral arrangement featuring Vuelie, Love Is an Open Door, All Is Found, and Let It Go. The playful mouth and body percussion add a touch of theatrical fun. Recording it was a challenge — but an absolute joy.
If you’d like to perform this medley with your own choir, feel free to get in touch for the sheet music.
